Driving for work is the most dangerous activity for many employees. In the UK, around 1500 people are killed, and 120,000 are injured in road accidents each year. This surpasses the total fatalities in other work sectors like mining, construction and agritecture, which amount to about 140 annually. 

Despite these alarming numbers, the risk assessment of drivers is often ignored. Health and safety requirement is frequently overlooked, especially for drivers using non-company vehicles (referred to as ‘grey fleet’ drivers).

Research highlights the importance of risk assessing and training drivers. Doing so can significantly reduce accidents, lower claims and minimise associated costs.
